Is there a possibility of a fourth stimulus check for Social Security and SSI?

Would we be better off giving up now, or are we really going to get another economic boost?

In spite of inflation reaching a new 41-year high and groceries and gas prices skyrocketing,

Congress has not yet taken any action to give older Americans more flexibility.

A petition, however, is still circulating to persuade lawmakers to give seniors a fourth stimulus check of $1,400.

Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries hoped Congress would consider a fourth stimulus payment.

Senior Citizens League, a nonpartisan advocacy group, has advocated for Social Security claimants

Hardest hit by price increases to receive the one-time stimulus check of $1,400.

According to the group, the cost-of-living adjustment and inflation will severely

impact many older Americans on fixed incomes. In the years following the pandemic,

Numerous seniors expressed their struggles, which led to the development of this proposal.

The Senior Citizens League is not the only organization trying to contact Congress.

There are more than 3 million signatures on a petition available on Change.org.

Congress is requested to issue $2,000 stimulus checks for adults and

$1,000 checks for children during the "duration of the crisis."
