There are eight states sending out direct payments this month - relief checks worth hundreds of dollars are on their way

This month, eight states are sending direct payments worth hundreds

Of dollars to cash-strapped Americans. In the midst of the inflation crisis,

Florida and Delaware have introduced relief packages for residents.

Delaware lawmakers in April agreed to send $300 to residents who filed tax returns in 2020 or 2021.

According to Delaware Public Media, up to 150,000 Delawareans may still be waiting on

their $300 rebates despite the first round of checks being sent out in May.

As a result, nearly 20 percent of taxpayers who qualify for the rebate have not yet received it.

“We are working with numerous other state agencies to identify people in this state

Who have Social Security numbers, and cross-reference that information

Against people to whom we have already sent checks,” Geisenberger said.

Residents should be able to use the relief at the gas pump and

in the grocery store, according to the state's website.
