Thousands of Americans will receive direct payments of $3,200 EARLY, and checks will drop soon

In just weeks, thousands of Americans will receive $3,200 DIRECT payments.

Governor Mike Dunleavy announced Friday that Alaskans will start receiving checks on September 20 from the Permanent Fund.

According to state officials, Alaskan residents will receive two relief payments.

This year, Alaska's Permanent Fund will receive $2,550 from oil wealth's dividends.

This year's dividend is more than twice as much as last year's $1,114.

There's more to it than that. As part of the energy relief program, Alaskans will also receive a second payment of $650.

A single check will be issued to the combined payment, and the electronic distribution will begin on September 20.

It is a few weeks ahead of the usual early October distribution time.

Alaskans must get their applications approved by September 9.

Since the early date is only for electronic distribution, Alaskans must also select direct deposit.

We will begin the distribution process for those who prefer a paper check or filed a paper application.

Governor Dunleavy said the dividend came at a time when Alaskans have waited seven long years to receive a fair and sizable dividend.

Inflation has also forced Alaskans, especially in rural areas, to spend considerably more on basic necessities like food and medicine this winter, he said.

"We must stop using arbitrary political processes to determine what the PFD will be.

Alaskans deserve a constitutional amendment that protects the PFD from politicians and special interests.
