Americans will receive up to $1,000 in summer relief next WEEK - take action now to speed up the process

Tens of thousands of New Mexico residents are receiving relief checks as inflation has wrecked their finances.

Residents who do not file state income taxes are eligible for direct payments up to $1,000.

As of mid-July, checks began to be sent out, and the state expects to finish sending them out by July 31.

New Mexicans are expected to receive $18 million in relief payments, totaling approximately 33,000 checks.

According to the Tax and Revenue Department of New Mexico, single households without dependents will receive $500,

And married couples will receive $1,000. You can receive your payment via direct deposit or by mail if you are eligible.

Direct deposit payments, however, will go out sooner, so updating your bank account information is a good idea.

The checks will be provided to non-tax filers for around $20 million.

First-come, first-served will determine the distribution of funds. To apply for the payment, residents had until May 31, 2022.

Due to the fact that funds in the program were still available, the deadline was extended to June 10.

Non-filers who missed the deadline can still file a New Mexico tax return to get the rebate below instead of a relief check.

Tax rebates are available to New Mexico residents who file their 2021 income taxes by May 31, 2023.

What about taxpayers in the state?

Couples filing joint returns, heads of household, and surviving spouses with

incomes under $150,000 may qualify for a $500 rebate. The $250 tax credit is available

to single filers and married individuals filing separately with an income under $75,000.
