During his time with the Portland Trail Blazers and Sacramento Kings, Caleb Swanigan played 

three seasons for Purdue and the NBA. He died at the age of 25. As reported by the Allen County Coroner's Office in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Swanigan grew up in Indianapolis in a difficult environment. His mother Tanya struggled to 

take care of six kids in the midst of his father's crack-cocaine addiction. After living in homeless shelters, 

the family moved to Utah for a while, but he returned to Homestead High School.
