This week, millions of Social Security recipients will receive new $1,657 direct payments - do you qualify?

In just a few days, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will release its final round of monthly benefit payments for July.

The average Social Security benefit this year is $1,657, and the maximum is $4,194.

There are three Wednesdays a month when Social Security sends out payments - the second, third, and fourth.

Checks will be mailed out this Wednesday to those whose birthdays fall between the 21st and 22nd of the month. 

If your birthday falls on or after the 22nd, you will receive your check the following week.

The following Social Security benefits will be paid in August:

1. Those born between the 1st and 10th of August should celebrate on August 10

2. If you were born between 11 and 20 years ago, August 17 would be your birthday

3. In case of a 21st or later birthday, August 24 is the day
