Find out when your direct payments of up to $300 will be sent next month

From September, millions of Illinois taxpayers will receive a direct payment worth up to $300.

In order to assist cash-strapped residents struggling to make ends meet, the checks are part of the Illinois Family Relief Plan.

In an interview with NBC Chicago, officials revealed that the payments will be sent starting September 12.

It may take eight weeks for the checks to arrive, however.

Families with dependents will receive up to $300, while single filers will receive $50, while joint filers will receive $100.

In order to qualify for the rebate, single taxpayers cannot earn more than $200,000.

"This new law puts money back into the pockets of homeowners and families in the South Suburbs," said Senator Michael Hastings.

We are slowly recovering from the worst public health crisis our state, country, and world have ever experienced."

“We have been able to keep up with gas prices and food prices with the extra money we have received,” Brad Rozendaal shared with WeAreIowa.

In addition, between August 5 and 14, the Illinois Family Plan will reduce the sales tax on clothing and

School items from 6.25 percent to 1.25 percent. Some items, such as stationery, will be cheaper as a result.

With inflation hitting a new 40-year high of 9.1 percent in June, states across the country are helping residents.

A $450 payment will automatically be sent to around 60,000 eligible residents in Florida.

According to the Florida Department of Children and Families, checks should arrive by August 7.

Hope Florida - A Pathway to Prosperity is the program behind the payments.

In a letter, Governor Ron DeSantis wrote: "This one-time payment can be used for anything from diapers to fuel."

In the state, the check will be given to foster and adoptive families.
