During the next three months, he will spend $25 on the lottery every week.

A Lowcountry man said he won $500 the first week he won.

On a Powerball ticket, he won $100,000 seven weeks into the experiment.

'I was not even familiar with Powerball,' the man said.

In the May 28 draw, the man realized he actually had five matched numbers.

With a multiplier of 2, his $50,000 prize was doubled because he spent an extra $1 on PowerPlay.

He won the money and used it to buy a car, beating the 1-in-913,129 odds.

He still plays the lottery, though. "I'll complete the three-month experiment," he said.

Hanahan, South Carolina, purchased the winning ticket at Kneemans Hall Road Kwik Fill.
