When will Social Security benefits be sent in August 2022?

Early August is the scheduled date for Social Security checks to be issued. As a result of rising inflation,

Social Security's cost-of-living increase for 2022 will be 5.9%, the largest in nearly 40 years, and will be even higher in 2023.

The Social Security schedule for August is as follows:

1. The payment for those born on the 1st-10th of the month will be distributed on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

2. You will receive your payment on Wednesday, August 17, if your birth date falls between the 11th and 20th.

3. Your payment will be distributed on Wednesday, August 24 if your birth date falls between the 21st and 31st.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) may also be available if your Social Security checks aren't

Enough to cover your basic living expenses. People with disabilities

(such as partial or complete blindness) who are unable to work receive monthly payments under

The SSI program. SSI recipients must still meet financial requirements.

In addition to those 65 and older with limited income and financial resources, SSI is also available.

If you received Social Security before May 1997, or if you receive Social Security and SSI,

You will receive Social Security on Aug. 3 and SSI on Aug. 1. The Social Security

Administration says to allow three additional mailing days before contacting them.

As of June 2022, the average Social Security check for all beneficiaries was about $1,542,

While SSI recipients received about $623. According to the latest estimates, the COLA for 2023

Could be as high as 10.5%. According to The Senior Citizens League, a 10.5% COLA would increase the average monthly retirement benefit by $175.10.
