COLA Social Security payment schedule 2022 - Direct payments up to $4,194 will be sent this week - how much will you receive?

As of this week, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has begun sending out monthly benefit payments for July.

Monthly Social Security benefits average $1,657 this year, with a maximum of $4,194.

Each month, the Social Security Administration sends out payments on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays.

You'll receive your payment on the remaining Wednesdays of July, depending on what day of the month your birthday falls on.

Social Security benefits are scheduled to be sent in August as follows:

1. August 10 if your birthday is between the 1st and 10th

3. August 24 if your birthday is the 21st or later

2. August 17 if your birthday is between the 11th and 20th

As a result of your new spouse's income and resources, your SSI payment amount may change.

How remarriage affects SSI

Your payment amount will change from an individual rate to a couple's rate if you and your new spouse both qualify for SSI.

A couple's combined countable income is deducted from the federal benefit rate to calculate their SSI benefit amount.

The couple receives separate checks for the result, which is then divided equally.

SSI benefits are not the same for everyone.

Does everyone get the same SSI?

If your state adds money to the federal SSI payment, you may receive more.

If you have other income, such as wages, pensions, or Social Security, you may receive less.

It may also be less if someone pays your household expenses or if you live with a spouse.
