checks will go out to about 8 million Americans next week.

On August 10, beneficiaries whose birthday is between 

August 1 and August 10 will receive $841 deposited into their accounts.

Depending on your birthday, you receive Social Security 

benefits on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays of the month.

For individuals to qualify for SSI, assets cannot exceed $2,000, 

while couples can have assets up to $3,000.

It is also necessary to live in the United States and to be a US citizen or national in order to qualify.

Part one: Applying for survivors benefits

You must submit the following documents to the Social Security

Administration in order to apply for child's benefits:

If the worker is the stepparent of the child, proof of the worker's 

marriage to the child's natural or adoptive parent

Obtain a copy of the child's birth certificate or adoption certificate
