Millions to receive $841 direct payments this summer with Social Security Supplemental Income 2022

In the coming weeks, millions of Americans will receive direct Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

On August 1, SSI payments will be issued again. The first of every month, unless a holiday affects payment, SSI is paid.

Instead of an October payment, recipients will receive two September SSI payments on September 1 and September 30.

In 2022, the maximum federal SSI payment for an eligible person is $841 and $1,261 for a spouse.

There must be no more than $2,000 in assets for individuals, and no more than $3,000 for couples.

Continued stimulus check for SS and SSI claimants

The Senior Citizens League's Shannon Benton said: "We have received hundreds of emails from people worried about their financial situation.

Congress isn't the only organization appealing to the Senior Citizens League.

There is a petition on Change.org with more than 3 million signatures. A Denver restaurant owner started it.

For the "duration of the crisis," Congress is asked to provide monthly stimulus checks of $2,000 for adults and $1,000 for children.

It hasn't stopped independent groups from lobbying Congress to act after a fourth stimulus check.
